Actors’ profile pictures

An effective actor’s profile portrait needs to meet two key requirements; catch and hold the casting director’s eye whilst remaining clearly recognisable as the person that the casting team are going to meet.

Unsurprisingly, some people can be a little uncertain about balancing these requirements, but there’s really no need to be. The process is as enlightening as it is enjoyable, with the photography and shortlist editing completed in a single collaborative session taking no more than three hours.

Editing and delivery

Following the photography, the first step is to filter out the weaker images for each pose and clothing style. This process is usually straightforward and reduces approximately 200 images to about 40. The second step is to identify the stronger images from the first edit, reducing the selection to a manageable 15-image shortlist, which completes the session.

The shortlist is then shared through a secure online gallery, enabling you to select your favourite six images in your own time. Once selected, colour and contrast corrections are assigned and minor (temporary) spots and blemishes removed. More complex adjustments are available, but these will incur additional charges based on time. However, over-editing images used for casting applications defeat the point of a profile picture and is really not recommended.

The final six selected and edited images will be uploaded to your gallery with options to choose your preferred download size.

Price: £300

A three hour combined photography and editing session costs £300, with the time split between the two elements. Should you wish to leave earlier and not be involved in the editing, this will be done for you but the price will remain the same. Longer sessions are available on request, with the option to choose alternative locations. Prices on application.
